Welcome to my blog in progress!

Who am I?

I am a mother with a passion for photography. I love everything about taking pictures. Whether it's seeing smiling faces, capturing that special moment in time or even uploading the pictures on to my computer I just love everything about it. It makes me happy. :o) (and I have 4 boys so there are lots of moments to capture around here!)

I am an optimist. I can't help it, it's just who I am. No matter what is happening in my life, I know that something good will come out of it somehow. It always does! The universe has a magical way of working things out.

Countdown Time!

In our family we don't carry on a whole lot of Christmas time traditions but one of my favorites is our Christmas countdown wall. We put them on our wall and then the kids get to rip one down every morning. Each number is more exciting to take down than the next........

Special Day

Today was a special day for me. Not only was it my birthday, but I also was given the honor of taking photographs for my friends Trinity and Josh as they renewed their wedding vows for their 10 year anniversary. It was such a special occasion to watch
and I hope I was able to capture beautiful memories of their day for them.

Today also marked another special occasion. My first photo shoot for someone that I was not related too! Josh and Trinity were wonderful. They made my job so easy! I felt so at ease taking their photos, it's a big step toward my dream of being a photographer.

It was cool outside but still a very nice day. The pastor had such wondeful things to say during the ceremony. The kids enjoyed themselves too!

Those big brown eyes

Caden has giant saucer eyes that look right into your soul when he looks into your eyes. Almost impossible to say no to those!

You know your tired when.....

We walked aroung our local festval called Riverfest today. It turned out to be one of those days where it's so hot and sticky that just blinking makes you sweat. We "ooh"ed and "ahh"ed at the cars, ate some yummy greasy festival food, watched a concert for the kids and then hunted down the free balloon tent. At the end of the afternoon the air conditioned car beckoned us. Naptime was on our to do list too! Not to far down the road I turned around to see this.........

Gannon sleeping with his pizza hanging out of his mouth. LOL!

Where's my beara?

Everyone needs a friend in life and what better friend than a Build a Bear named "Beara"! It is so sweet to hear him say, "Mom, where's my beara?" and "mama, beara hungry!". I had to dig but I found an old bottle for him and he held his beara so tenderly and fed her a bottle. Afterwards he promptly tossed her on the floor in typical boy fashion!

He was a skater boy.........

Toby has been so into skateboarding! He really has a passion for it! I am so happy to see him so into something. He loves to practice and go down to the skate park. I never realized how totally scarey it would be to see him falling on the cement though! Good thing boys are so daring! He also loves to play with Tech Decks which are mini skateboards you work with your fingers. Those are so much less scarey to me and easier to watch. Haha!

My very first "professional" shoot. =)

Friday the 13th was a very luck filled day for me. I received my first background stand and lighting! I was so happy I couldn't wait to tear into it. More surprising was how excited Brian and the boys were! They were thrilled to be my models (with the exception of Gannon) and I got to shoot away! Here are some of my first pics.........
